The following support groups have been formed by individuals and small organizations that recognized a painful issue faced by others. It is an expression of their concern and love as they demonstrate a personal interest in their fellow man and attempt to meet the needs of others by giving a part of their own lives. These are the groups that make life bearable for many and provide relief that only a personal touch can do. There is no government agency or activity that can take away the grief and leave the comfort given by these groups.
It is a common experience for those taking the sorrows of another upon themselves to find they themselves are fulfilled in the very act of helping. There are many reasons to contribute ones time and energy to these organizations. Often times bonds of lifelong friendship and fellowship are formed during these times as mutual interests are discovered. Please consider giving of your time and energy in the work of these groups as they strive to make life better for those in need.
All of these organizations may not be in the town in which you live, but do not hesitate to contact them; you are welcome to attend their meetings. They may be able to help by your attendance or by assisting someone else in establishing a similar support group in your town.
If you know of other worthy support groups or functions not mentioned here, please us the contact button at the top to notify the moderator.

This is a community ministry of the Fayette First United Methodist Church. We do not try to pull people away from their own place of worship but encourage their involvement in their own churches if they have one. We have people from all across the community that help support the ministry as well as from within our church. We would love for you to help promote this ministry.
We meet every Thursday night (even on holidays) in the Fellowship hall at Fayette First United Methodist Church. (Enter just beyond the water fountain
through the courtyard doors.) Our schedule is as follows:
6:30 p.m. Eat - A free meal is provided by various community members and our church.
7:00 p.m. Large Group Meeting - We open with worship songs then review the recovery principles and steps. We alternate between a lesson on         one of
the principles or a testimony from someone who has been through recovery.
8:00 p.m. Gender-specific small group discussions - This gives participants the opportunity to discuss the lesson or testimony and share a bit about
what’s going on in their life. This also helps make connections and find support and accountability partners to help.
8:30 p.m. Wrap up, coffee and fellowship.
Those interested in helping with this ministry are welcome to sponsor meals and events.

Healing Hearts Grief Support exists to help individuals understand
the process of grief and mourning, normalize feelings and facilitate the healing process. Many of our members have experienced the feelings
associated with personal loss and the difficulties of dealing with those emotions. The group provides a safe place to express feelings and thoughts
